Playing on this site

There are two ways to play here:
  • Gunboat games (silent and anonymous) => That means you do not negotiate, and you do not know who you play against (this is a variant)
  • Standard games => This is the traditional way. Diplomacy is a communication game. You must talk to other players.

There are three ways to get in a game:
  • Use a waiting list for a game in a Jeremies tournament (handled by the site administrator) => For this go to the page 'Personal space/Handle my registration' and put oneself in a list     Direct link
  • Join a game directly from the page of the game by selecting the power to play => players click on 'Join' from the page of the game (tournament with chess knight) or from the 'Available positions' page     Direct link
    • Either it is free access and anyone may join the fun
    • Either it is private access and game creator sets a code the players joining the game must enter
  • Register to an oncoming tournament => For this go to the page 'Personal space/Handle my registration' and affiliate oneself to a tournament     Direct link

There is only one way to create a game:
  • Create a game from the page of the tournament => For this the game creator uses the link 'Create a game' from the tournament page (tournament with steering wheel)     Direct link

Options for a tournament

Anonymous During any game within this tournament, except the game master : no player may know players identity nor post non anonymously in forum
Silent During any game within this tournament, except the game master : no player may send a message to another player nor post in forum
Solitary Within any game this tournament, there a human player playing against 6 AI (and enclenching adjudications)
Duellist Within any game this tournament, there are two human players sharing the powers to play
Archive Within any game this tournament, there is just the game master entering the orders (no player)
By team Within any game this tournament, players are taken from a team and when a player is late part of punishment is shared within the team
Permanent Within any game this tournament, players are taken from a waiting list and games are independant
Open to all Within any game this tournament, players may directly put themselves in a game choosing the power to play
Open to all with code Same as previously but there is a code (private access)
TD creates games Only tournament director may create the games in the tournament
TD creates teams Only tournament director may create the teams in the tournament
End year Defines the last year of play of games within the tournament (default value is 1999)
Language Language used for the game (English or French) (default value is English)
Scoring system Scoring system used for the game (default value is pure : 100/number of survivors, 0 for the others)
Map Map system used for the game (Hasbro or Descartes) (default value is Hasbro)

Options for a game

Simplified Many features are removed. Orders are not validated but passed to game master who will submit them. It is possible not to use password but a link in an email.
